Erik Rivera’s “The Cyclist”

Comic Strip Live! favorite Erik Rivera just finished completing a new short film entitled “The Cyclist”. Erik is featured in the film, which also stars long time club favorite Ross Bennett. The hilarious video is now online and knowing the comedic sensibilities of these comics as well as we do, we won’t hold back from encouraging everyone to check it out!

Congrats to CSL bartender Sam Whitten!

It was a banner night at the Comic Strip!

On Saturday, September 26th, 2009, the World Famous Comic Strip Live! had 3 phenomenal shows, a bevy of hilarious comedians took command of the stage and crowd, and one of the Strip’s own, bartender Sam Whitten, made his prime-time network television debut on NBC’s new hit drama Mercy.

Sam is a long-time bartender at the Strip and is one of the finest young actors in New York. We are very excited for Sam and look forward to seeing more of him on the screen!

Congrats Sam!

30 Rock wins Outstanding Comedy Series Emmy! Comic Strip Alums Rejoice!

Built by a cast of Comic Strip Live alumni, NBC’s 30 Rock won the Emmy last Sunday for Outstanding Comedy Series for the third consecutive year.

At one point our another, all members of the cast and crew have come through our doors at the Comic Strip Live, and one of the stars of the show, Judah Friedlander, is one of our regulars and always a crowd favorite (shown in the above picture in the bottom right corner). Another star, the incomprable Tracy Morgan recently came by the club to see old friends and hang out and the revolving cast of weekly guests stars (Amy Schumer, Godfrey, Donald Glover) all have direct ties to the Strip.

Congratulations 30 Rock! Keep up the Outstanding work!

Marina Franklin on “The Jay Leno Show”

Last night, Comic Strip Live! favorite Marina Franklin made her debut as a correspondent on NBC’s new nightly prime-time program, “The Jay Leno Show”.

Marina’s segment focused on recent changes that have taken place in her neighborhood of Harlem and the ever-talented Franklin was captivating as she remained gracious and entertaining, in spite of the lively and unpredictable cast of characters that surrounded her at every new location.
