I AM COMIC features Comic Strip Live!

If you have been one of the thousands to see the recently released documentary I AM COMIC at comedy festivals around the country this last year (or one of the theoretical MILLIONS who saw it air on Showtime last night) you noticed comedian Ritch Shydner talk about his days growing up as a comic in New York and the various clubs that he played.

One of those clubs was, you guessed it, The Comic Strip Live! And while Ritch may have gotten the exact coordinates of the club a bit incorrect (he said we could be located in between 77th and 78th streets. For the real address, look in the top right hand corner of this blog) we very much appreciate the sentiment!

And congrats to Jordan Brady for putting out such a wonderful piece of work!

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT (Chang and DeStefano on Comedy Central Presents!)

Hey gang!

We are finally all back from our two-week Eighty-Second and 2nd staff retreat and it is time to catch up on anything that we may have missed during our time away!

Probably the biggest news is that last Friday, April 23rd, two Comic Strip Live! favorites, Eliot Chang and Mike DeStefano debuted their half hour Comedy Central Presents specials.

Both guys crushed and the capacity crowds loved their performances. We look forward to seeing these specials repeated early and often, Comedy Central!

Congrats Eliot and Mike!

Kevin Hart! Tonight at the Comic Strip!

Photobucket

As anyone in the crowd at the Comic Strip Live! last night found out first hand, Kevin Hart is one funny man!

An incredibly likable comedian with film credits to his name such as Knocked Up, Scary Movie 3, Soul Plane, Fool’s Gold and more, Hart brought his trademark delivery (and smile) to the Comic Strip last night as he performed much to the delight of our always spectacular Sunday night audience.

Kevin is also the star of the highly popular series of new commercials for online giant eBay. Watch one of the clips below:

A Philadelphia native, Hart released his first hour special “I’m a Grown Little Man” in 2009. He will be returning to the Comic Strip tonight for a spot sometime around 10′o’clock. Come on out!
