Question of the Night: 01/24/010

We’re back with another Question of the Night, a Sunday tradition here at the World Famous Comic Strip Live blog.

It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to become a comic, and it requires a lot of stamina to perform every night.  But at least it’s a job that each of our performers loves.  What’s really difficult is to go to the jobs that aren’t fun (and where you don’t get applause at the end).  So in honor of those gigs, tonight we’re asking:

Q: What’s the worst job you’ve ever had?

A:

Barry Weintraub

Telemarketing– it lasted about 2 days.

Kyle Grooms

Burger King, but it wasn’t that bad.

Pat Dixon

Stand-up Comedy– no joke!

Kevin Brennan

A busboy in Los Angeles (at a Rain Man age time in life that is way past the appropriate age for busboys).

Brian McFadden

It’s a tie between the airplane parts factory and the marketing for a basement waterproofing company.

Mike Vecchione

It would be the Car Wash except for the year he spent teaching kids with emotional problems in a wealthy Philadelphia suburb.

Warren Holstein

Orange Julius

Lenny Marcus

Tech department for EDS on Wall St: the longest year of his life.

Jon Fisch

Pouring beers at a ski lodge before he’d ever had one and subsequently getting a lot of complaints because of the excessive foam.

Thanks for stopping by Eighty-Second & 2nd.  Come back next week when we ask another Question of the Night.  Or better yet, come in to the Club and see these acts live on stage.

Comic Strip Christmas Party, 2009!

Happy Holidays!

Yesterday was the Comic Strip Live’s annual Christmas party! To document the even, we here at Eighty-Second and 2nd dispatched comedians Adam Cozens and Joe Machi with a digital camera and had them capture the fun at last night’s annual send-off. They ended up taking many pictures of themselves. Here are a few choice shots!

Question of the Night (08/16/09)

In honor of National Tell a Joke Day, here is the Question of the Night for tonight,

August 16, 2009:

Q: What was the first joke you learned as a child?

A:

Host, Barry Weintraub

A German commander of a POW camp said to his prisoners, “I have good news and I have bad news.  The good news is, after 5 years, you get a change of underwear.  The bad news is, you have to change with him, you with him, and on and on…

Brian McFadden

*

Rob Cantrell

Remember the ‘fake-pull-off-your-thumb’ trick?  Rob’s Uncle James showed him then taught him how to do it when he was a kid!

Mike Destefano

*

Lenny Marcus

By Henny Youngman: “I went to the doctor, and he told me I’m too skinny.  I said, ‘I want a second opinion.’ And he said, “Sure. you’re ugly, too*.”

Jermaine Fowler

From The Simpsons when Homer visits NYC:

Homer: What do you have to drink?

Street Vendor: We have Mountain Dew and crab juice.

Homer: Eww… I’ll take the crab juice.

Mike Vecchione

*

Warren Holstein

*

Ryan Reiss

* Maybe something about He-Man?

*For the most part, these guys learned dirty jokes as kids.  But, have no fear, the pictures link to their websites, where you can find their new material and celebrate National Tell a Joke Day with the line-up from the World Famous Comic Strip Live!
