Question of the Night (8/30/2009)

Our regular installment of Question of the Night is going to be a bit different tonight because of the special show, Story Time with Vic Henley, that’s happening here at the World Famous Comic Strip Live at 8:00.

The Question:  What’s the funniest thing that’s ever happened to you on stage?

The Answers: Come to the club and listen as the rotating cast, often including Vic Henley, Ben Bailey, DC Benny, Jay Oakerson, and more tell their tales.

Other performers will include Jermaine Fowler and Marina Franklin!

Comedy Class

Have you ever sat in the show room at the Comic Strip Live! and pictured yourself on the stage?

Well, now’s your chance!

The Comic Strip Live Comedy Class is starting again on Monday, September 14.  The course is taught by Comic Strip regular D.F. Sweedler, who has written for The Late Show with David Letterman, who has appeared on Comedy Central, The Today Show, and A&E, and who has been written up in The New York Times and Reader’s Digest.

The class is held on Mondays from 5:45-7:45, and it lasts 8 weeks.  The cost is $375.00.  For information, call Jan M-F at 212-861-9386.  As a member of the class, you will receive writing tips, stage practice, and free admission to the club Sundays-Thursdays (excluding holidays and special events).  Past graduates have gone on to write for Saturday Night Live, perform in infomercials and on TV, and earn spots on our Late Night roster.

Last night a sold-out boat enjoyed another successful and exciting Comic Strip Live Sunset Comedy Cruise!

Laughs were plentiful and the memories made were priceless as a boat-load of comedy fans took in the spectacular views and hilarious stand-up comedy that only the Sunset Comedy Cruise can produce.

Todd Barry & Artie Lange on Letterman tomorrow night!

Tomorrow night on CBS’s “The Late Show with David Letterman”, two long-time Comic Strip Live favorite’s will be featured on the highly-rated talk show.

The first guest of the night will be actor/best-selling author/radio personality/possible mayoral candidate and frequent drop-in guest on the Comic Strip Stage: Artie Lange!

And performing stand-up comedy towards the end of the show will be long-time friend of the Comic Strip Live! and recurring character on HBO’s Flight of the Conchords, Todd Barry!
