Tonight at the Comic Strip Live!, following the main show it is the reality show stand up competition that is: The Lottery Show! Coming to you live from the showroom at the Comic Strip Live! six aspiring stand ups audition for a chance to join the Comic Strip’s roster by auditioning for not only our audience, but also a panel of judges. The panel generally consists of 3 or 4 Comic Strip comedians, our booker and one of the clubs legendary owners.

The live audience gets a say as well, as they cheer and clap for each comic at the end of the night.
But in the end, only one comic was passed on to the Late Night roster and this last week, the winner of the Lottery Show was Matt Nedostup! Congratulations Matt.

Last night, Comic Strip Live! regular Marina Franklin performed on CBS’s “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson!” Marina is a long-time favorite at the Comic Strip who proudly calls the Strip her home club. A Chicago native, Marina comically shares stories of her life, relationships and living in a 2011 Harlem in her set.

Add another name to the iconic list of performers who have graced the legendary Comic Strip Live stage! Last night, accompanied by his good friend Judah Friedlander, 3-time WWE World Champion and New York Times Best-Selling author Mick Foley made his Comic Strip debut.
Follow went up as an unannounced act much to the 150+ person audience’s great surprise and delight.
Stand up is one of the most painful things that a person can do to themselves. But after seeing what he has been able to put up with so far, Mick Foley just might have thick enough skin to make it in this wild world.

Last September, comedian David Baker appeared on NBC’s “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno!” During his 5 minutes in the spotlight, the craft Englishman told many great jokes, a good majority of which he wrote while taking D.F. Sweedler’s Comedy Writing Course at The Comic Strip Live!

We here at Eighty-Second & 2nd just received word that one of the brightest new talents on the Comic Strip Live! roster, the incredibly funny Reese Waters will be recording his first-ever stand up comedy album on stage this week at the Comic Strip!
On Wednesday, August 17th and Thursday, August 18th, Waters, the co-host of the popular show “The Daily Line” on Versus, will perform full hour-long stand up sets which will be collected and released later on this year.
In just the last year, Reese has performed on both CBS’ “The Late Show with David Letterman” as well as “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.”
