This morning news came out that comedian Patrice O’Neal passed away. He was 41.
O’Neal suffered a diabetes related stroke in October.
From Comic Strip Live! General Manager J.R. Ravitz: “The comedy business mourns the loss of another great. He’ll be missed by all.”
Patrice came by the Comic Strip in August to guest judge “The Lottery Show.” Opinionated, personal and always controversial, Patrice was one of a kind. He was an irreplaceable voice in the comedy community that will be incredibly missed.
One of the biggest and best comedians on planet earth, longtime friend of the Comic Strip Live, BRIAN REGAN stopped by the Strip last night to hang out following his “Late Show with David Letterman” taping.

Brian’s headshot from over 20 years ago still hangs in the lobby of the club and Brian will be quick to point out the first time he ever got on stage was at The Comic Strip’s old location in his native Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Brian sells out thousand-plus seat theater’s all across America based purely on his amazing stand-up. He has never has his own sitcom or film, but that hasn’t gotten in his way of becoming one of the biggest comedy stars in the world. Last night’s taping of Letterman was his 25th appearance on the show. Brian’s set will air tonight at 11:35 on CBS.
Tonight at the Comic Strip, two of the best modern joke-writers of our comedy generation, Ted Alexandro and Andy Pitz will be performing at the Comic Strip Live!
Both have performed on CBS’s “Late Show with David Letterman” as well as the “Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” but tonight, you can catch them live on our intimate stage!

One of America’s brightest and most exciting emerging comedy stars, Myq Kaplan will be appearing at the Comic Strip Live! tonight!
Kaplan has had a incredibly HUGE last few years appearing on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, NBC’s The Tonight Show, his own Comedy Central Presents: Myq Kaplan half-hour special, making the final 5 on NBC’s Last Comic Standing and in the last month made his debut appearance on what many in the industry feel is the pinnacle showcase for a young comedian, CBS’s The Late Show with David Letterman.
Myq will be appearing on our 8:30 show.

You are performing on a Saturday night on the infamous stage at the Comic Strip! Where else could a young comic ever want to be? Also, we are the only club in New York City not to charge for making a DVD of your set. You will also be joined on stage throughout the show by Comic Strip Live! headliners coming by to entertain the crowd.
