The biggest stand up comedy star in the world and a long, long-time friend of the Comic Strip Live! Chris Rock, came by his old stomping ground last night to surprise and delight both our Saturday 8:00pm and 10:30pm shows!
Chris got his start performing stand up on stage and before that, he even worked as a busboy at the Strip!
Chris, as well as many other of our high-profile alumni (Louis C.K., Dave Chappelle, Bill Burr) has been known to drop-by at a moments notice. Who knows when he’ll be back?!? Maybe tonight? You better come by to find out!

Today, the Comic Strip Live! received word that long-time friend of the club comedian Todd Lynn had passed away in Mississippi.
Todd’s comedic talent led him to appear on CBS’s “Late Show with David Letterman,” NBC’s “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” BET’s “ComicView,” HBO’s “Bad Boys of Comedy” Comedy Central’s “Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn” and had his own Comedy Central Presents half-hour special. Lynn was also a talented actor appearing are a recurring character on Damon Wayans’ sitcom “My Wife and Kids” on ABC.
Our thoughts are with his family tonight.

Attention New York City!
As Blache Dubois so beautifully once said in the Bogart classic A Streetcar Named Desire, “I’ve always relied on the kindness of strangers.” Now we’re not saying we’ve got Vivien Leigh to offer ya, but open up your ears for a moment.
A young comic from South America is currently staying in New York City, bouncing from couch to couch and is looking for something more stable until he leaves in April. A very kind, very funny young man, this comic is in the states for just a few short months and instead of having his sign a lease that he will just as quickly after to find a way out of, we are taking it to the streets! Friends, fans and family of the Comic Strip Live!, if you or anyone you know has an open room that they would like to rent a young comic who is staying in New York City for a few short months, please let yourself be known!
If you have any leads on a short-term room rental situation, call J.R. at the Comic Strip at (212) 861-9386.
Thanks everybody! You are the best friends a comedy club could ask for!

Is there anyone better?
Earlier today, Comic Strip Live! favorite Andy Pitz just posted a clip from his jaw-dropping performance at the Comic Strip Christmas party doing his unbelievably perfect impression of Rodney Dangerfield.
A lot of comedians “do” Rodney, but Andy actually does RODNEY. Not an exaggeration of Rodney, or a caricature of him, but Andy sounds like Rodney actually sounded. No one does it as well as he does. Truly a one-of-a-kind talent.
Check out the clip, shot live on stage at our club.
And compare it with some classic Rodney footage.
Andy also recorded some bonus tracks of him doing Rodney jokes on his critically acclaimed sophomore album More Mr. Nice Guy.
To find out when you can see Andy Pitz live on stage at our club, keep an eye on the schedule page.
