It is with a heavy heart that we at the Comic Strip say goodbye to our good friend, Greg Giraldo.
An amazing talent, tremendous writer, but more than anything else Greg was an incredibly kind and wonderful man.
He will be missed.
This past Sunday, longtime friend of the Comic Strip Live!, Greg Giraldo premiered his one-hour comedy special “Midlife Vices” on Comedy Central.
Giraldo has been a regular at the Strip since the mid 90’s and has become a staple of the New York comedy scene due to his tenacious work ethic and biting social commentary. His passionate delivery and hilariously original takes on pop culture have put him amongst the top-working comics in the industry. Despite being a household name for most of the last decade due to his regular appearances at Comedy Central Roasts, five stand-up showcase spots on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” and regular inclusion as a panel member on “Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn”, this was Giraldo’s first one-hour special.
Midlife Vices premiered this Sunday, August 16th on Comedy Central and will repeat August 17th and September 1st.
Great work, Greg!
About last night…
AMAZING show! Over 170 comedy fans turned out for what was much more than any seemingly ordinary mid-week comedy show! In addition to hilarious sets by Brian Scott McFadden, Ted Alexandro, Colin Kane, Joe Bolster, Al Ducharme and more, one of the evening many highlights was a special appearance by long-time friend of the Comic Strip Live!, the Roast Master General: Jeffrey Ross!

The now L.A.-based comic and Dancing with the Stars veteran was at the club to practice some of his witty zingers for the upcoming Comedy Central Roast of Joan Rivers. And oh man…he sure had some gems. Looking forward to watching!
The Comic Strip Live! has long been a second home for it’s alumni and has gained recognition for being a great place to catch an unexpected performer, like Jeff, live and in person. In the last year, the club has had unannounced performances by: Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, George Wallace, Caroline Rhea, Bill Burr, Jim Norton, Tony Rock, Greg Giraldo, Artie Lange, Mike Birbiglia & more.
